About design your own necklace

Design your own diamond necklace the way you would build a ring: choose any certified diamond from our search — natural or lab-grown, GIA, IGI, or GCAL graded — then pair it with a bezel or prong pendant mount and the chain length you wear most.

Bezels sit flat, snag nothing, and suit everyday wear; prongs lift the stone and pour in light. Mounts come in 14k and 18k yellow, white, and rose gold and platinum.

Assembly takes about two to three weeks, shipping is free and insured, and the finished necklace carries our lifetime warranty. Have a stone already? The concierge will quote a mount for it.

Design Your Own Necklace FAQ

How much should I spend on a diamond pendant necklace?+

A well-cut half-carat lab-grown pendant can come in under a thousand dollars; one-carat natural stones typically run several thousand. Because you choose the exact stone, the price is transparent — you see the certificate before you buy.

What size diamond looks best in a pendant?+

Half a carat reads refined and everyday; three-quarters to one carat is the sweet spot most people picture; above a carat and a half the pendant becomes the outfit's centerpiece. Pendants face outward at close range, so cut quality matters more than sheer size.

Is a lab-grown diamond good for a necklace?+

Excellent — it is chemically and optically identical to a mined diamond, certified the same way, and costs roughly a third as much. Many clients put the difference into a larger stone or a heavier chain.

Bezel vs. prong pendant — which should I choose?+

A bezel encircles the diamond in metal: sleek, secure, and snag-free for daily wear. Prongs expose more of the stone for maximum sparkle but need occasional inspection — which we provide free for life.

What chain length should a diamond pendant hang at?+

Eighteen inches — just below the collarbone — is the classic pendant length and flatters most necklines. Choose sixteen for a closer sit or twenty for layering; every Aurelle necklace is made to your length.

How long does a custom diamond necklace take to make?+

About two to three weeks from order to your door, since each piece is assembled to order rather than pulled from a shelf. Shipping is free, insured, and trackable, and returns are accepted within 30 days.
