2ct — stones ~2.2mm: a whisper of light, ideal for layering. 3ct — ~2.5mm: delicate but clearly diamond. 5ct — ~3mm: the classic proportion most people picture. 7ct — ~3.5mm: substantial, reads from across a table. 10ct — ~4mm stones: statement territory, each stone a tenth-carat.
