The band spends its life next to your engagement ring, so choose them as a pair. Three questions settle almost every decision: does it sit flush, does the metal match, and does the width balance the hand?
Sit flush
Solitaires and bezels pair with straight bands. Halos and low-set stones need a curved or contoured band that traces the setting's profile — otherwise a gap shows. If you own an Aurelle setting, our concierge knows exactly which contours nest with it.
Metal and width
Matching metal reads classic; deliberately mixing (a yellow band under a platinum setting) reads modern — both are correct, half-matching is not. On width: your band should be equal to or narrower than the engagement ring's band. 1.5–2.5mm suits most solitaires; wider works when worn alone.
And remember eternity versus half-set: full eternity bands can't be resized, so size carefully or choose a band diamond-set only across the top.
