The pear — a teardrop marrying a round's brilliance with a marquise's point — is the most sculptural of the classic shapes. Worn point-up or point-down, it visibly lengthens the finger and reads larger than its carat weight.
Symmetry is everything in a pear: the point should align exactly with the apex of the curve, and the shoulders should mirror each other. Like all elongated brilliants it can show a bow-tie, so review video before committing.

Which direction should a pear point?+
Tradition says point toward the heart, but most wearers today choose point-down toward the fingertip for maximum lengthening effect. It is purely personal.
Do pear diamonds need a special setting?+
The point should sit in a V-shaped prong to protect it. Five- and six-prong pear settings — like ours — are engineered for exactly this.
What ratio makes a beautiful pear?+
1.45–1.65 is the classic teardrop. Shorter feels plump and vintage; longer feels dramatic and modern.
